As part of our ongoing efforts to promote social awareness, Ernakulam Social Service Society (ESSS) organized an anti-drugs campaign on 12th April, 2025 in collaboration with the catechism students of St. Joseph’s Church and St. Antony’s Church in Mulavukad. Four of our interns from St. Thomas College, Konni, Pathanamthitta, conceptualized and actively led the initiative.

The campaign at Mulavukad was presided over by Grama Panchayat President Mr. Akbar, with 2nd Ward Member Mr. Vinod and former Ward Member Mr. Rajeev gracing the occasion. Our interns created a powerful street play called Njangalkum Parayanund highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse among young people, which was staged by the students of St. Joseph’s catechism unit.

The second phase of the campaign was held at Our Lady of Mercy’s Church, Ponnarimangalam, where a skit and a flash mob were performed to further spread the message. Both programs were also later presented at Bolgatty, engaging audiences across multiple locations.

Through initiatives like these, ESSS continues to work towards building safer, healthier communities by raising awareness of pressing social issues.
