Asadeepam SHG Eroor started on November 22, 1999, with 18 members. The members of this group were women from middle-class families. In the early days, savings were kept at Rs.15/- and the maximum loan amount was Rs 2,000/-Presently the group has 20 members and has been able to grow a lot financially and socially due to different training under ESSS. The group members also participated in several self-employment.  Further, they participated in a three-day Special EDP training conducted by ESSS in Eroor and a three-month certificate course in hand embroidery. It helped them to start a catering unit, stitching and embroidery unit (both Machine and hand embroidery). Currently, the group consists of five caterers, five tailors. It also motivated others to do something on their own.  Now 2 of them are Asha workers, 3 are office staffs, and 5 are teachers in unaided schools. Everyone is in a position to generate an income of their own. The personal savings is Rs 2 lakh, and the group was selected as the best group in Region IV on International Women’s Day “Penvettom”2020 Conducted by ESSS.

At the age of sixty, the members leave the group and join Sayamprabha, elder’s self-help group and the group intakes new members to replace them and moving forward as twenty beacons of hope, fellowship and love.
