Ms. Jaicy Robin is a member of Sangamithra SHG, Muttinakam. She was coming from an economically backward family, and her own income was vital for her to survive. Further, her family is affected by Kerala Flood 2018. It made her life more difficult. At that time, she applied for self-employment programme of ESSS and subsequently selected to candle making projected funded by Caritas India. Hence, she attended the training programme on candle making conducted by ESSS in Eloor and provided materials for starting the unit. The small income she earned from it inspired her to scale up her business by taking a loan from Kerala Gram in Bank. Now she can remit the bank loan without any failure and earns more income to support her family. In her own words, this candle making unit brought new light to her life.
